Prime Time for Year-end Tax Planning
November is prime time for year-end tax planning! It is the ideal time to consult with us regarding ways to reduce your taxes in ways that make sense for your specific situation.
Currently, there are several tax provisions scheduled to expire as of December 31, 2011. Examples include:
-
Itemized deductions
- Sales tax deduction
- Mortgage insurance premiums
- The "above the line" education deduction
- Educator's expense deduction
- Exclusion from income of up to $100,000 from an IRA if made directly to a charity
- Plug-in electric vehicle credit
We say "scheduled" because they have been reinstated at the last minute in the past and we have no indication at this point that they will not expire. The thing we do know is that these and other provisions are available for 2011.
Give us a call to schedule an appointment and we will help you determine which apply to you or your business.
